In a composer is that without which something would not have happened
commissioned by ‘paraflows 6: Listening Comprehension’ and ‘Membra Disjecta for John Cage’,
a group of Vienna-based musical workers are brought together in an unguided discussion-based
performance to interpret a Taiwanese composer’s classical operatic composition, as the audience
is invited to conjecture the music in the process of the discussion. The performance looks into the
democratic construction of collectivity by means of unsuspected participations in the form of both
speaker and listener.
