My phone interview with the Australian composer Chris Mann on ‘composer’s
conspiracy’ is transcribed into a script reenacted by two performers while a group of local
composers intervene the conversation as they see fit. Here, “discussion” means
something simultaneously organized and performed by reenactors, speakers, listeners and
beholders, all of whom become conspirators in a shared process. • Chris Mann (b. 1949) is an Australian composer, poet and performer specializing in the emerging field of ‘compositional linguistics’, described by Mann as "the mechanism whereby you understand what I'm thinking better than I do."
